Trying to buy a coat for your little girl can be a challenge, especially when they refuse to behave whilst you are out shopping. There are so many factors to consider which makes the process even more difficult. You know that buying a coat for yourself is easier because you are not still growing. That means you can wear the same coat for a number of years so it is likely you will have a different cover up for every eventuality.
Buying one jacket a year for your daughter can be expensive so you should try and find a jacket that does everything you want. This means you need the girls coat to be waterproof, warm but not too hot, able to fit a few layers under it and easy for your little girl to be able to get on and off. Finding a coat that is stylish and does all of these things would almost be a miracle.
Try to pick what you could leave out if you cannot find the perfect coat. Staying dry is important as getting wet and cold can lead to illness. however you can buy a waterproof cagoule cheaply these days. This means you can use the cagoule when it rains but your daughter can wear a nicer coat when it is dry.
It is possible to find a really good coat amongst all the rubbish. Fastenings should be easy to open and close. A zip or big buttons are best. poppers and toggles just present an obstacle for children. Choose bright colours, they are more childlike and your daughter will love the pinks and purples you choose. If the coat has a hood this is a plus in case you get caught in an autumn shower and do not have your waterproof to hand.
Look for these essentials when buying your daughter’s coat. If it can be worn into the New Year that is another benefit. If the coat can fit more layers under it then you have found a great coat.
